Fund Accounting Manager

The Finance Department provides best in class advice, support and control to our businesses and investors through an experienced and dedicated global team. Within Finance, the Fund Accounting team supports the accurate accounting, reporting and operational oversight of complex investment activity across a diverse portfolio, including commodities and fixed income-related investments, while partnering across the firm in a disciplined, well-controlled environment.
What You'll Do
• Oversee the accounting and reconciliation of multiple trading entities across a range of products, including futures, options, swaps and physical commodities.
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly NAV calculations for each entity.
• Partner with the broader accounting team to support compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with trading desks, operations and counterparties to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
• Provide insight into market trends and their impact on portfolio valuation and risk metrics.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting workflows.
• Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory frameworks, including GAAP, IFRS and other applicable standards.
• Prepare audit documentation and liaise with external auditors as needed.
• Partner with portfolio managers, risk, middle office, compensation, legal and operations to provide accounting insight and support decision-making.
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; CPA, CFA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 10+ years of fund accounting experience, with a strong focus on hedge funds.
• Experience in a hedge fund, asset management firm, or commodities and fixed income environment is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles, operational processes and a wide range of financial products.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements through documentation of current workflows and identification of optimization opportunities.
• Proficiency with fund accounting systems such as Geneva.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data visualization tools and programming languages such as Python or SQL is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Salary Range
Millennium offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual's experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
