Description:

Functional Analyst will work for a Functional SME experienced in processes. Functional Lead will be responsible for multiple areas, so this analyst will be expected to grow into the role and take ownership of their area. Responsibilities will also include documenting the design/approach, test prep, test execution, and assisting with post-deployment test verification steps. Several efforts will be occurring simultaneously leading to a very dynamic environment with numerous opportunities to expand ones skill set and experience. The candidate will assist in implementations that deploy solutions at a significantly larger scale than typically seen in IT.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Strong business analysis skills
• Experience with Java, Unix, SQL
• Testing experience and running scripts
• Effective at building strong business relationships across teams to ensure a positive customer experience and quality of software projects into Production
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to effectively work directly with customers and technical staff
• Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups
• Strong ability to guide development team activities from requirements to implementation in all aspects of a software development lifecycle with little supervision
• Perform analysis to support the development and validation of requirements
• Able to effectively translate business requirements/needs into detailed software requirements and support tasks utilizing Agile methodologies and setup of work management tools (like VersionOne)
• Experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc)
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
• Able to communicate technical information to others, expressing facts or ideas clearly, orally or in writing, when answering questions, giving directions, and providing information, individually or in groups
• Ability to assist with development of simple to complex project plans utilizing Agile methodologies
• Microsoft Office with strong skills in PowerPoint

Additional Required Skills/Experience:
• A minimum of ten (10) years experience in business analysis, software development and/or related field;
• A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business or related discipline is preferred;
• Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program;
• Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job;
• Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel;
• Extensive knowledge of and experience in software development and testing, preferably using different methodologies and lifecycles (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc);
• General familiarity and experience with project management methodologies/disciplines, especially in the areas of scope, cost and schedule management;
• Extensive experience leading small teams and/or technical projects in the successful completion of assigned goals/objectives;
• Extensive experience writing and reviewing a broad range of technical documentation, especially technical specifications and design documents;
• Able to obtain Postal clearance;
• Excellent communication skills.
