The Science and Technology Functional Analyst III assists in the conduct of thorough analysis of experiment/exercise directives and objectives to provide orientation and focus for experimentation.
Responsibilities:- Develops a plan of action and milestones in support of the planning, preparation, execution and evaluation of annual Live Prototype Experiments and Exercises.
- Participates in technology demonstrations and collaborate with Industry partners to keep abreast of emerging technologies.
- Assists in determining and overseeing the synchronization of scenario execution, collection of information, and report preparation.
- Provides doctrinal and analytical expertise in support of operational exercises.
- Assists in the preparation and conduct of experiments or exercises.
- Assists in the preparation of scenarios and operations plans.
- Researches and incorporates data drawn from a wide range of sources, such as the Army Operating Concept, Army Functional Concepts, Warfighting Challenges, Capability Needs Assessment gap statements and the F2025 Campaign of Learning for findings and insights to support recommendation and selection of potential sustainment technologies.
- Conducts information briefs to CASCOM leadership in order to recommend sustainment technologies for inclusion in Live Prototype Experiments.
- Assist in the development of the analysis plan to include essential elements of analysis and measures of performance.
- Reviews data collected proceeding, during, and following experiments/exercises to identify trends and inconsistencies with doctrine and to develop combat development feedback.
- Collects, assembles and analyzes inputs from exercise Observer/Controllers, workstation controllers and other sources as applicable.
- Synthesizes and analyzes information inputs to evaluate the completion of mission essential tasks, measures of performance, achievement of experimentation objectives in order to prepare experiment reports.
- Conducts liaison with DoD agencies, Combatant Commands and component staffs, industrial partners, and educational institutions in support of operational experiments/exercises, simulations, seminars, map exercises, scenario preparation and execution.
Qualifications:- Minimum education and years of experience: Bachelor's Degree, and 10 years' experience in a US military agency in progressively responsible command and staff positions. (Functional Analyst III)
- Clearance Requirements - Final DoD Secret clearance.
Minimum Qualifications:- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience in at least two (2) of the following:
- Experience with service and joint doctrine, to include combat, combat support, and combat service support operations.
- Extensive experience with service/joint staffs organization, functions and procedures.
- Extensive experience with service/joint organizations, operations, and exercises at levels comparable to Army Corps.
- Experience in the preparation/conduct of seminars, study groups and map exercises for general and senior field grade officers.
- Experience in conducting instruction in both small and large group formats.
- Experience in the conduct of post exercise effectiveness analysis and evaluations.
- Experience in the compilation and presentation, in both written and oral formats, of lessons learned and after action review material.
- Experience with joint and service doctrine, to include combat, combat support and combat service support operations.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's Degree
- Experience with DOD Test and Evaluation
- Experience with project management
