Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer (Angular, .NET Core, PostgreSQL) to work in a hybrid capacity both onsite and limited remote in Santa Clara, CA

The Mission:

Join Peratons innovative team and help modernize the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) while ensuring the reliability of todays operational system. TMPC is the mission planning and execution component of the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS). Youll work with experienced mentors to maintain and enhance the current system while contributing to its transformation into a next-generation capability, growing your skills across the full technology stack.

What Youll Do:

  • Contribute to the evolution of the system by assisting in the development of microservice-based components that will enhance and eventually replace the legacy application.
  • Help build intuitive and responsive user interfaces using Angular, gaining hands-on experience bringing complex data to life for end users.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of secure, scalable services using .NET Core and C#, with PostgreSQL as the database.
  • Gain exposure to CI/CD pipelines and assist with writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks for automated deployments.
  • Learn and apply DevSecOps principles, supporting efforts to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle in accordance with Navy cybersecurity standards.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work within our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, collaborating closely with senior engineers, system engineers, and cybersecurity professionals to deliver incremental value.
  • System Sustainment & Support: Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing the existing TMPC application. Support bug fixes, performance improvements, and incremental feature updates to ensure system reliability and mission readiness.
Qualifications

What Youll Need

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or a high school diploma with 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Programming Foundation: Working knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python)
  • Software Development Fundamentals: Familiarity with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications
  • Interest in Full-Stack Development: Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning both front-end and back-end technologies
  • Operating Systems: Exposure to Windows and/or Linux development environments
  • Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to .NET Core, C#, Angular, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with modern web development concepts, including JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue), CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design
  • Exposure to relational or NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts, CI/CD, or automation tools such as Ansible
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Git-based version control systems
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies; SAFe experience is a plus
Target Salary Range$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individuals experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
