Full Job Description
Position Summary:

At Miovision, we are engineering the future of smart transportation, and we are looking for an exceptional Software Engineer ready to hit the gas and help us push the boundaries of what's possible. This isn't just another job-it is your opportunity to build Intelligent Transportation Systems that clear up gridlock, save lives, and revolutionize how the world moves. Working under the hood of our full-stack applications, you will contribute at every layer of our tech stack. We need versatile, highly driven engineers who are hungry to learn the rules of the road and solve complex problems in IoT, data management, and real-time event streaming. You will develop, test, deploy, and enhance software across an entire product platform that directly shapes global traffic flow. If you are ready to accelerate your career, collaborate with brilliant minds, and make a massive impact, it is time to merge into our lane!

Objectives and Responsibilities:
  • Code Craftsmanship: Write, maintain, and enhance product-level code across the entire codebase, ensuring our software is built to scale, perform flawlessly, and remain easily maintainable.
  • Collaborative Design: Actively participate in technical design reviews, contributing fresh ideas and absorbing architectural wisdom from senior engineering decisions.
  • Agile Execution: Work cross-functionally in dynamic agile sprints alongside product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ensure product development perfectly aligns with business objectives.
  • Quality & Review: Strictly adhere to coding best practices and team standards, actively participating in peer code reviews to continuously learn and elevate the codebase.
  • System Troubleshooting: Jump in to help triage, debug, and troubleshoot complex system issues under the guidance of senior engineers, developing a sharp eye for root-cause analysis.
  • Continuous Optimization: Continuously drive system performance improvements, proactively refactor legacy code, and ensure technical documentation evolves right alongside the product.

The Ideal Profile:
  • The Core Developer: You possess strong, foundational proficiency in Kotlin and SQL, with a track record (or highly impressive academic/personal projects) of building robust applications. (Bonus points for Python, Spring Boot, or TypeScript!)
  • The Event-Driven Thinker: You understand the power of Event-Driven Architecture-building scalable systems that sit quietly until a critical event sparks them into action-with exposure to streaming tools like Apache Kafka or Pub/Sub systems.
  • The Containerization Pro: You are highly familiar with modern deployment ecosystems, specifically utilizing Docker and Kubernetes to keep applications running efficiently.
  • The Real-Time Data Enthusiast: You are excited by IoT systems and have a solid grasp on handling large-scale datasets, caching real-time data, and building effective data pipelines.
  • The AI Adopter: You are forward-thinking and possess hands-on exposure to (or a strong interest in) using modern agentic code generation tools to accelerate and optimize your development workflows.
  • The Hardware Tinkerer: You bring an extra edge to the team if you have some prior exposure to-or a deep curiosity about-hardware integration and embedded systems.
  • The Hungry Problem Solver: Above all technical skills, you are exceptionally eager to learn, possess a relentless aptitude for solving complex puzzles, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Your Rewards & Well-being:
We invest in our team with benefits designed for modern life and true work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Your well-being is covered from day one with comprehensive health benefits, 24/7 virtual healthcare access, and dedicated wellness programs.
  • Financial Future: Build for tomorrow with our RRSP/401K Matching Plan and share in the company's success through our Variable Incentive Plan.
  • Time to Recharge: Truly unplug with our unique Mio-Days and flexible vacation policy.
  • Work & Life Support: We support you with flexible work options, an internet subsidy, a remote work allowance, and enhanced leave for new parents.

Sound like your next adventure? Apply now and let's start building together!
