Full Stack Developer (React & Python/Node.js - AWS)

Lead I - Software Engineering

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to design, build, and maintain secure, high-performance web applications. In this role, you will work on everything from responsive user interfaces to scalable backend services.

The opportunity:
• Frontend Development: Build modular, responsive, and highly interactive user interfaces using React JS, Redux/Context API, and modern CSS frameworks.
• Backend Development: Design and scale robust backend services and microservices using either Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask) or Node.js (Express, NestJS).
• Secure API Development: Architect and secure RESTful or GraphQL APIs, ensuring strict protection against vulnerabilities like injection and broken object-level authorization.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage application components natively within AWS using containerized environments.
• DevOps Integration: Own and manage deployment workflows by writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and building automated CI/CD validation gates.
• Data Management: Write optimized queries and design schemas for both relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores (DynamoDB, MongoDB).

• Authentication & Authorization: Enforcing secure identity management with token-based authentication and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Secrets Management: Preventing hardcoded credentials by using secure storage tools like AWS Secrets Manager or Systems Manager Parameter Store.
• Security Scanning: Utilizing automated tools within the CI/CD pipeline to scan code for vulnerabilities and dependency flaws before deployment.
• Experience and Qualifications
• Years of Experience: 6-7 years of professional full-stack software development experience in a production environment.
• Architecture Understanding: Strong grasp of serverless architectures, event-driven systems, and microservices patterns.
• Testing Rigor: Experience writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for both frontend and backend systems.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Compensation Range: $75,000-$113,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
