Full Stack Developer Job Description
About the Role:
Lasso Informatics is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of data-driven applications and services. You will work across the stack; from frontend components to backend APIs and database layers, to build secure, scalable, and high-performing software that enables our clients to extract value from complex health and research data.
As part of a collaborative development team, you'll contribute to technical planning, code reviews, and architecture decisions, while ensuring compliance with data security and performance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications, including frontend UI and backend services
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular, Node.js, Django, Flask)
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services
- Collaborate with DevOps/SysOps team on deployment, CI/CD, and environment management
- Work closely with QA to ensure code quality and test coverage
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning
- Maintain database schemas, write complex queries, and ensure data integrity
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and production issues
- Contribute to documentation of systems, endpoints, and workflows
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer
- Proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)
- Experience with server-side technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Django, Flask)
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization
- Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
- Understanding of RESTful API design and secure integration practices
- Experience working in CI/CD environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of FISMA Moderate security requirements
- Familiarity with AWS ecosystem (e.g., Lambda, S3, RDS, EC2)
- Exposure to in-situ data processing or large-scale data workflows
- Experience with AWS Open OnDemand environments
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of authentication frameworks (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and tools
