MEDICINE SERVICE/UCSF - Section Chief, Hematology/Oncology

California- Department of Veterans Affairs California Health Care System, Fresno, CA, affiliated with University of California- San Francisco, Fresno Medical Residency Program, leader in health care quality is recruiting for a full-time faculty member as Section Chief in Hematology/Oncology. This position is in the Department of Medicine Service, VA Central California Healthcare System (VACCHCS), affiliated with UCSF Fresno and requires a faculty appointment with UCSF; requirements for a faculty appointment must be met at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. VACCHCS provides patient centered care, delivered by engaged, collaborative teams in an integrated environment that supports learning and continuous improvement. Teaching and supervising fellows in hematology and oncology as well as residents in Internal Medicine will be a component of this position. Therefore, we are looking for a provider with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills who will provide the highest quality veteran-centered care.

The Section Chief of Hematology and Oncology will have administrative functions and overseeing the clinical and research growth of the section. Candidate must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine and completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology. The physician must be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Candidate must have a medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) and must be eligible to obtain a US medical license. Applicants must also be eligible for appointment at the VA.
