Job DescriptionThe Fraud Business Analyst serves as a strategic partner across Fraud Strategy, business lines, digital teams, and enterprise risk functions. The role blends advanced fraud risk analysis with business consulting, solution evaluation, and cross-functional influence. This position identifies fraud vulnerabilities, maps and evaluates business processes, sizes financial impact (fraud losses, revenue impact, operational costs), and translates complex data into clear, actionable insights.
The Analyst applies deep domain knowledge in authentication, transaction risk, identity verification, and servicing workflows to recommend fraud controls, guide vendor solution testing, and support development of enterprise-wide fraud mitigation strategies. This role is also responsible for maintaining awareness of emerging fraud trends, assessing vendor capabilities, contributing to pilot design and evaluation, and delivering structured reporting that informs executive decision making.
The Analyst functions as a connector between technical teams, product owners, fraud operations, and enterprise partners-ensuring data-driven decisioning, process clarity, and delivery of measurable risk reduction.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than six years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience- Ability to perform analysis using SAS, SQL, Python, or similar programming language to tie data from multiple sources together
- Proficiency in analytics related to financial management, cost benefit analysis, evaluating fraud prevention infrastructure, and making data driven recommendations
- Experience analyzing data to determine loss impact on any given product and determine multiple risk management strategies and enhancements
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, synthesize complex data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership
- Capacity to conduct an analysis of business need and/or define and maintain complex process flows as needed, lead meetings, plan agendas, and conferring with business line leaders
- Strong project management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills working with and influencing at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications and data analysis software
- Process mapping and ability to understand a business workflow to identify gaps and realize potential solutions

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
