Job SummaryThe Fraud Investigations Manager is a leadership role within the ETOS - Enterprise Fraud division, reporting directly to the Enterprise Fraud Associate Director. This individual is responsible for overseeing and directing the Fraud Investigations team and will serve as the primary liaison between Fraud and other business units, partnering with senior management to prevent, detect, and investigate fraud while shaping the strategic direction of the bank's fraud investigations program, influence policy, and drive meaningful outcomes that protect both the institution and its customers.
The Fraud Investigations Manager plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a high-performing team of investigators focused on large-scale, complex fraud investigations.
Job Responsibilities:Investigations Management
- Oversee and assist the team in conducting investigative research using appropriate investigative techniques to determine liability and the impact of cases, including mitigation of financial losses and business interruptions.
- Perform and review detailed analyses to detect patterns, trends, anomalies, and schemes in transactions and relationships.
- Lead professional, large-scale complex investigations involving fraud, policy violations, risk management, or compliance issues.
- Streamline collection and recovery processes - including both financial and asset recovery - to maximize recovery outcomes.
- Execute effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while balancing multiple priorities and managing competing deadlines.
- Partnering with law enforcement officials to investigate fraud related incidents; including but not limited to, fraud investigations, restitution coordination, legal action, etc.
Process Improvement & Strategy
- Conceptualize, develop, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness across all EFI workloads.
- Develop reporting solutions that streamline manual processes and increase time efficiencies across the team.
- Assist in streamlining policies and procedures within Fraud Investigations to ensure consistency and best practices.
- Think strategically to implement and deliver on business objectives aligned with organizational goals.
Fraud Systems & Tools
- Partner with senior management to develop, evaluate, and vet fraud systems and tools (e.g., case management platforms, transaction monitoring systems) designed to increase productivity and strengthen fraud protections for the bank.
- Leverage technology and data-driven approaches to enhance investigative capabilities and fraud detection.
- Stay current with emerging fraud trends, fraud methodologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve the bank's fraud prevention posture.
Team Leadership & Communication
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of investigators specializing in large-scale, complex investigations involving transactional fraud, policy violations, risk management, and compliance issues.
- Effectively communicate with direct reports through regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions, ensuring alignment with corporate and departmental goals and initiatives.
- Conduct performance reviews and facilitate goal-setting processes for all team members.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Fraud Investigations and other internal business units, fostering cross-functional collaboration and a feedback loop to mitigate future events.
- Build and manage effective relationships across the industry.
- Influence and communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including senior management.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all regulatory reporting is filed accurately and in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and deadlines.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations, policies, and legal requirements for fraud investigations.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance training. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Required Qualifications:- Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent
- Minimum experience required: 8+ Years in one or a combination of the following: fraud, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), anti-money laundering (AML), investigations of financial crimes transactions or policy violations, risk management, or compliance.
- 5+ years of leadership and/or management experience overseeing a financial crimes or fraud investigations team.
- Prior experience working with Financial Crimes Investigations teams.
- Previous experience preparing, filing, and reviewing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Preferred Qualifications:- Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Criminal Justice, Finance, Business Administration.
- Professional experience conducting and/or leading large-scale, complex investigations involving financial crimes transaction fraud, policy violations, risk management, or compliance issues.
- Familiarity with fraud detection and case management platforms (e.g., Actimize, Verafin, SAS).
- Professional certification related to financial crimes investigations strongly preferred, such as:
- ACAMS - Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists
- CFE - Certified Fraud Examiner

Pay Range
$90,142.50 - $140,390.00
