Summary:

This role is responsible for leading the company's budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts, while providing strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and drive business performance. The position oversees treasury management, including cash flow and banking relationships, and plays a key role in developing financial reporting systems and processes. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with internal finance teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on key business drivers and financial strategy.

What You'll Do:

Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, long-term forecasts, and financial models.
  • Coordinate with department leaders to gather data, ensure accuracy, and consolidate results.
  • Support external audits, particularly related to WIP (Work in Progress) analysis.

Financial Analysis
  • Analyze financial trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with business units to provide financial insights that drive performance improvement.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with KPIs and variance analysis.
  • Oversee WIP reporting across all companies, analyze issues with Project Accounting and business units, and lead regular financial reviews with project managers.
  • Calculate performance-based bonuses for each company.
  • Execute special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

Treasury Management
  • Manage all banking, intercompany loan, credit card, and cash investment activities.
  • Lead automation initiatives with banking partners and manage account openings/closings and credit card administration.
  • Serve as gatekeeper (with CFO) for all banking user rights and access.
  • Maintain weekly, 13-week, and long-term cash forecasts.

Systems & Processes
  • Act as the financial lead for ERP reporting (Microsoft Business Central) and future reporting systems.
  • Drive improvements in financial analytics, reporting consistency, and system efficiency.

Stakeholder Communication
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting, Project Accounting, and Payroll Managers to ensure accuracy in financial results.
  • Communicate with the Owner and business unit leaders on key financial and strategic topics.

What You'll Need for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management.
  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles in a construction or project-based environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting and forecasting software such as Microsoft Business Central, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence, drive change, and improve processes across departments.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset.
