What you’ll be doing...

The Sr. Manager of the Retail Standard Pricing team (Verizon Business Group – Commercial Finance) will be responsible for working collaboratively across functions to establish the strategy for client teams on both an operational and financial basis. Key oversight areas may include:


  • Review all standard pricing activity within the Verizon Business Group organization to determine overall financial impact to the business and alignment to Verizon strategic plan.
  • Partner with product organization, pricing development, sales operations, and costing to develop business cases for new product development, enhancements, geo expansions, and lifecycle support.
  • Perform complex financial analysis to determine financial viability, risks, and rewards.
  • Prepare and review financial summary with the executive leadership team and make appropriate business recommendations.
  • Identify complex business performance issues and present insights on the consolidated internal reports and external presentations.
  • Ensure the team successfully executes on capital planning review/analysis and provide guidance on optimal use of cash.
  • Be a trusted advisor providing value-added decision support and guidance to executive management.
  • Partner with Sourcing & Legal in vendor contract reviews related to product development statement of works (SOW) investments and/or ongoing costs are reflected in business cases. Facilitate leadership approvals.
  • Partner with Revenue Accounting and Accounting Policy to understand where revenue will be booked and strive for Gross and Service Revenue Reporting.
  • Provide strategic financial and operational insights utilizing recurring performance reports, ad-hoc analysis and performance reviews.
  • Evaluate business trends and assess monthly and quarterly business performance in driving strategic business analysis.
  • Advise on risk and opportunity considerations for managing cost and growing the revenue and profitability.
  • Recommend planning and business performance issues to define and execute action plans.
  • Identify and assess cost and effect patterns in the business not captured in existing reporting.
  • Perform monthly performance review of business unit initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide decision support and guidance; lead ad-hoc presentation development and executive review.
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business.

What we’re looking for...



You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Six or more years of relevant financial experience with strong management potential.
  • Significant experience with communication and presentation to senior leadership.
  • Significant business case development and analysis experience
  • Experience with product and customer specific profitability analysis.
  • Ability to understand and model financial impacts associated with payment term or methodology changes (e.g. cash flow impact, fees, etc).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Thorough knowledge of Verizon Business Group’s product portfolio and business units.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data.
  • Strong strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations; Proven ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.
  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Advanced understanding of report query and design.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
  • Familiar with Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Strategic Finance, and Oracle EPM.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $94,000.00 - $180,000.00.
