Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Project Engineer II to join our Fourmile Projects team. The successful candidate will assist and support team members with assigned aspects of mining projects

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively assist with s project designs, costing, and the implementation management activities
  • Work closely with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), Permitting, Asset Management, Reliability, Operations and Technical Services, to research, analyze and provide supporting documents for inclusion in project scopes
  • Assist the Environmental (HSE)/Permitting group in obtaining required permits to prevent delays in construction, commissioning, and final handover to the plant
  • Research and provide information for inclusion in project scopes of work subsequent contracts, procurement orders, required supporting documentation, and performs other duties as assigned
  • Formulate project parameters, and assist in monitoring progress to address constraints
  • Preform other duties as assigned
  • Effectively communicate with members of the project team and collaborate with stakeholders to adopt the most cost effective and efficient practices
  • Provide technical review for procurement tender and award activities
  • Create and/or update standard operating procedures and asset management tactics, and how the process is used to provide training to operating personnel during commissioning and start-up
  • Develop framework to measure a project's metrics to monitor performance, and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly data reconciliation and analytics reporting
  • Ensure all project control procedures are implemented and compliant with company policy and standards
  • Preform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in engineering or a related field required
  • Project planning/management experience required
  • Knowledge of the seven project phases concept (Identify, Prepare, Appraise, Present, Implement, Monitor, and Evaluate), and become proficient at using the concepts for all projects preferred
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of DROM (Design for Reliability, Operability, and Maintainability) and OR (Operational Readiness) principles preferred
  • Commitment to safety for self and others as well as embracing environmentally friendly work practices required
  • Contract management experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office products including Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and visualization software and scheduling software required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Experience with DROM (Design for Reliability, Operability, Maintainability) practices preferred
  • Ability to work rotating shifts required
  • Ability to work Underground required
  • Familiar with OR (Operational Readiness) practices and how to apply them preferred
  • Familiar with Reliability Engineering and condition-based monitoring practices preferred
  • Business Improvement, Asset Management, Enterprise Resource Planning experience preferred
  • Ability to distinguish the difference between greenfield and brownfield projects preferred
  • Familiarity with Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) initiatives preferred
