Full Job Description
The company is recruiting for a seed-stage startup building an AI-native freight brokerage platform for independent freight agents. The company is founded by a team with a track record of scaling category-leading businesses and is already seeing strong traction with its first brokers generating over $800k in ARR.

The Problem

Freight brokers are the backbone of a $600B industry. They're the person a shipper trusts to move their goods. But the technology and support available to them was built for large brokerages with IT departments, not for independent operators running $2M-$50M books of business out of a home office.

The company gives these brokers a better home: an AI-native parent brokerage that pairs hands-on support with tools that let them scale revenue without adding overhead. It's working: the first handful of brokers running on the platform already represent $800k+ of ARR just a few months since moving the first load.

But brokers don't move their book lightly. Their book is their livelihood, and the legacy brokerages they run on today are entrenched by inertia more than loyalty. Winning them over takes credibility, sharp positioning, and content that speaks their language, not generic SaaS marketing.

The Role

The company is looking for a Founding GTM Lead to own the go-to-market: attracting the best independent brokers to run on their platform. The role works directly with the CEO, will be one of the first hires on a small, senior team, and will have a real seat at the table on the direction of the business.

The ultimate goal is to build a repeatable, scalable GTM machine, building on strong early traction.

What You'll Actually Do
  • Own our positioning. Define how brokers understand the company: why the best independent operators should run their book on this platform instead of the legacy brokerage they're on today. Sharpen it continuously as we learn from every conversation and every deal.
  • Produce differentiated, data-rich content. The company sits on real freight data and real broker stories. The candidate will turn them into content brokers actually want to read: benchmarks, teardowns, market analysis, the kind of material that earns trust in an industry full of skeptics.
  • Know our audience cold. Get to know independent brokers deeply: join their calls, sit with them, understand their economics and what makes them switch. Know the legacy brokerages the company competes against just as well: their pitch, their commission structures, their weaknesses.
  • Test outbound. Design and run outbound experiments across channels: who we target, what we say, how we reach them. Measure what works, kill what doesn't, and double down fast.
  • Partner on deals. The company will continue to run founder-led sales for the foreseeable future. The candidate will partner with the CEO to take opportunities all the way to close, and feed what they learn in those conversations back into positioning, content, and targeting.
  • Build the machine. Turn what works into a repeatable, scalable engine: a pipeline the company can predict, a motion they can staff, and a story that compounds.

What We're Looking For

The company cares about what you've built, not how long you've been building. That said:
  • You've owned positioning that worked. You've defined how a product is understood in its market and can show how that translated into pipeline.
  • You're an exceptional writer. You turn data and customer insight into content people seek out: clear, specific, and credible to a practitioner audience.
  • You have deep customer curiosity. You'd rather spend a day with a broker than a week in a dashboard. Your best ideas come from knowing the audience better than anyone.
  • You're experimental and analytical. You run structured outbound tests, read the numbers honestly, and iterate quickly.
  • AI-native. You use AI tools in your own daily work and see opportunities to automate or improve processes with them.
  • Ownership orientation. You treat the business like it's yours. You don't wait to be told what to do.

Background That Might Fit
  • Early growth or marketing hire at a B2B startup who owned pipeline, not just brand
  • Content-led marketer who built a real audience in a niche or unglamorous industry
  • Founder or founding GTM operator who sold to SMBs or owner-operators
  • Logistics or supply chain experience is a plus, not a requirement

Location

The company is building a small, senior team that works primarily from its office in Brooklyn. Right now, the team works in person 4 days/week.
