About the RoleJoin a small, product-focused team as its first full-time engineering hire. You will shape the technical direction of an early-stage insurance technology company, building AI agent systems and product capabilities that address meaningful industry needs.
What You'll Do- Build and iterate on AI agent systems that power the core product.
- Own full-stack development across backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
- Partner with company leadership on product decisions, balancing technical feasibility with user needs.
- Design scalable backend systems that support AI workloads.
- Contribute to platform infrastructure as the team grows.
What We're Looking For- At least 3 years of full-stack engineering experience building and shipping products.
- Demonstrated experience building AI agents or similar AI systems, ideally with AI or machine learning systems in production.
- Strong backend and product engineering skills, with experience shipping products end to end and a focus on user impact.
- Experience working at an established company or an early-stage startup, and the ability to work independently with minimal onboarding.
- A degree from a strong university or relevant startup experience.
- Insurance or financial services experience is a plus.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $150,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience. Equity: 1% to 3%. Visa sponsorship is not available.
LocationHybrid in New York City, with an expectation to work from the office most days and some flexibility.
