Summary:

The Forward Deployed Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying data and AI-driven solutions to support mortgage and financial services operations. This role combines data engineering, ontology and semantic modeling, application development, workflow automation, and generative AI enablement to create scalable, production-grade solutions that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Engineering and Pipeline Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines within Palantir Foundry.
  • Integrate data from internal systems, third-party vendors, data warehouses, servicing platforms, CRM systems, and financial applications.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, reliability, observability, and performance across production environments.
  • Implement governance controls and operational monitoring for enterprise data assets.

Ontology and Data Product Development
  • Design and maintain ontology models that represent mortgage and financial services business domains.
  • Define business entities, relationships, and semantic structures that support operational workflows and analytical use cases.
  • Develop reusable, governed data products that enable reporting, analytics, workflow automation, and AI applications.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align ontology structures with operational processes and business objectives.

Application and Workflow Delivery
  • Develop Foundry-based applications, dashboards, operational tools, and workflow solutions.
  • Support business processes including loan origination, underwriting, servicing, portfolio management, risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and customer operations.
  • Configure workflow actions, case management processes, exception handling tools, and decision-support applications.
  • Partner with business users to identify opportunities for operational improvement and automation.

AI and Automation Enablement
  • Design and deploy AI-enabled workflows using Palantir AIP and related enterprise AI capabilities.
  • Develop agent-based and large language model (LLM) solutions that support business operations and decision-making.
  • Apply enterprise generative AI, orchestration, and agentic development patterns to build scalable, production-ready solutions.
  • Ensure AI implementations meet enterprise standards for governance, auditability, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency through AI-assisted processes.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be substituted.
  • 3-5 years' experience;
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise data platforms, data products, application development, and AI-enabled solution delivery.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python and/or PySpark.
  • Knowledge of data engineering, ETL development, and data integration methodologies.
  • Understanding of relational, dimensional, semantic, and ontology-based data modeling techniques.
  • Ability to translate business concepts, entities, relationships, and workflows into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications, operational workflows, or automation solutions.
  • Experience building or integrating generative AI and LLM-based solutions using enterprise AI platforms, model providers, agent frameworks, or orchestration technologies.
  • Ability to learn and transition between enterprise data and AI platforms, including Palantir Foundry and comparable technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions in evolving environments.
