Forward Deployed Engineer

Department: Software Engineering

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: 1600 Corporate Center Dr., Monterey Park, CA 91754

Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000 / year

Description

This means working directly with the people running our markets, understanding how the work actually gets done, and building entirely new tools, automations, and applications from the ground up.

This position operates under a hybrid work model, with a combination of in-office and remote work each week. Office locations include Monterey Park, CA; Orange County, CA; and Las Vegas, NV.

What This Role Involves

You will embed directly within clinical, operations, and market teams and build systems that change how care is delivered and how the business performs.

In a given month, you might:
  • Build an AI-driven tool to help care teams prioritize high-risk patients
  • Automate a workflow that is currently manual and impacting revenue or cost
  • Deploy an LLM-based system on top of messy clinical or claims data
  • Create internal tools that providers and operators rely on every day

This role is about shipping real systems that work in the real world - not prototypes or isolated experiments.

  • Work directly with clinical, operations, and market teams to understand how work actually happens
  • Identify high-impact problems affecting cost, quality, and patient outcomes
  • Rapidly design and build tools, automations, and AI systems used in production
  • Work with complex, messy datasets (clinical, claims, operational)
  • Build across the stack: data pipelines, APIs, models, and user-facing applications

  • Help shape how technology is adopted across the organization

Who this is for

This role is for people who:
  • Build things without being asked
  • Get deeply curious and go down rabbit holes to understand problems
  • Are comfortable operating with ambiguity and figuring things out from first principles
  • Care about impact and usefulness more than perfection
  • Want their work to be used immediately by real people

Strong signals
  • You have built and shipped systems that real users depend on
  • You have worked with real-world, messy data
  • You have hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG systems, agents, or applied ML
  • You can go from idea to working product quickly
  • You have taught yourself tools or technologies
