Full Job Description
Position Scope

Nuna is now accepting resumes for Foreperson with large heavy civil earthworks, road building, construction, and mining projects experience.

The Foreman / Foreperson is the immediate and primarily in-field supervisor on site. The Foreman / Foreperson provides leadership and is responsible for scheduling, work planning, coordinating, supervising, and assisting in cost controls. Responsibilities also include ensuring that established site goals are realized within established quality and safety standards while ensuring consistent and fair application of labour relations policies and procedures, proper apprentice training and productivity of crew at the job site and equipment maintenance within their respective area of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Client in the development and implementation of project operating procedures.
  • Identify project manpower requirements and provide staffing recommendations to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Ensure employees receive adequate training and maintain accurate training and personnel records.
  • Conduct daily Toolbox Talks and safety briefings to promote a safe work environment.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities, including maintaining a rolling 3-day look-ahead schedule.
  • Participate in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) reviews and support risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Review and verify daily project documentation, including crew timecards, radiation cards, FLRAs, production reports, haul sheets, 5-Point Cards, and labour coding records.
  • Facilitate regular field meetings with clients to maintain strong working relationships and address project requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day site operations to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
  • Manage workforce scheduling and ensure accurate and timely completion of employee timesheets and rotation schedules.
  • Maintain employee orientation, training, and certification records to ensure compliance with project and company requirements.
  • Direct and supervise crews, assigning resources and monitoring productivity to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure all new employees complete site-specific orientations and required safety training before commencing work.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and reinforce compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Recommend equipment additions, replacements, modifications, and maintenance requirements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Perform job planning activities, including resource allocation, scheduling, and work prioritization.
  • Support and participate in incident investigations, working closely with the Safety Advisor to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.


Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in a similar role
  • Heavy Civil project experience required
  • Experience with earthworks and heavy machinery of all types
  • Experience with DRILL / BLAST sites is considered an asset
  • Able to work at our remote worksites on a rotational basis
