The ideal candidate is a disciplined headquarters operator who synchronizes high-volume actions, maintains accountability across stakeholders, and delivers accurate, decision-ready support to senior leaders.

This position requires on-site support in the National Capital Region and an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. The position requires periodic travel to supported commands, operational units, exercises, test events, and industry locations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day force management and administrative support across the supported Joint Staff element.
  • Direct headquarters manpower actions, position management activities, staffing packages, organizational records, and related coordination with supported personnel offices.
  • Manage executive support operations for senior military and civilian leaders, including calendars, meeting preparation, correspondence, read-ahead materials, and action tracking.
  • Receive, analyze, assign, and monitor staff actions and taskings from higher headquarters, ensuring clear ownership, quality control, and on-time completion.
  • Plan and coordinate protocol requirements for distinguished visitors, General and Flag Officers, Senior Executive Service personnel, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee complex domestic and international travel through the Defense Travel System, including itineraries, authorizations, reservations, vouchers, and required supporting documentation.
  • Establish operating rhythms, suspense controls, standard operating procedures, and dashboards that provide leadership with accurate visibility of priorities and workload.
  • Synchronize administrative support with security, facilities, supply, information management, and other enabling functions across the headquarters.
  • Guide the Data Management and Automation Specialists in improving administrative workflows, reporting, data quality, and user support.
  • Identify administrative friction points, recommend practical process improvements, and implement approved changes without disrupting mission continuity.
  • Prepare concise briefings, decision memoranda, correspondence, and status reports for senior leaders.
  • Represent LMI professionally in high-tempo engagements requiring discretion, judgment, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, management, operations, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in force management, manpower, executive support, headquarters administration, personnel operations, or a closely related mission area.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience managing senior-level staff actions, taskings, suspense systems, and executive correspondence in a Department of Defense or comparable national security headquarters.
  • Working knowledge of manpower and personnel processes, organizational documentation, staffing actions, and headquarters operating procedures.
  • Experience using the Defense Travel System to coordinate complex domestic and international travel.
  • Experience supporting senior military officers, General or Flag Officers, Senior Executive Service personnel, or equivalent executives.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written communication, briefing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and deliver accurate work under compressed timelines.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting the Joint Staff, a combatant command, a Service headquarters, or another Special Operations Forces organization.
  • Experience coordinating protocol, distinguished visitor engagements, and senior leader events in the National Capital Region.
  • Experience applying process improvement, workflow automation, or data visualization to headquarters administrative operations.
  • Project Management Professional, Lean Six Sigma, human resources, force management, or related professional certification.
