Full Job Description
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Force Employment Analysis Division Chief, GS-1515-15, in the Dept of the Air Force's top Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis organization, the Office of Studies & Studies & Analysis (SAF/SA), at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.!

Looking for skills in mission-level modeling & simulation; mission-level analysis; engagement-level modeling & simulation; engagement-level analysis; operations research; studies & analysis; air combat operations; and a strong desire to lead, develop, and supervise military and civilian professionals.

This position leads a Headquarters Dept of the Air Force division of 20 mission- and engagement-level operations research analysts, military operators, and modeling and simulation engineers in researching, modeling, and assessing the performance of state-of-the-art Air Force & Space Force systems. The division advises the highest levels of Dept of the Air Force leadership, including the Secretary, CSAF, and CSO, on future force capability and force structure investments. Key tools for the division include the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) and other advanced optimization, design of experiments, simulation, and data analysis tools. SAF/SA has Direct Hire Authority to fill this key leadership position!

Salary Range: $169,279 -$197200

The primary purpose of the position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over approximately 20 nonsupervisory military and civilian employees assigned to the Force Employment Analysis Division.

Qualifications/Requirements:

-U.S. Citizenships Required.

-Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance.

-Drug Testing: This is a designated Drug Testing Position.

-Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

-Knowledge and operational experience in key areas such as air combat operations, cyber operations, joint classified capabilities, and current and future operational concept and capabilities.

-Knowledge of Department of Air Force (DAF) program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events, safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

-Skill and ability to lead work groups, meetings, conferences, seminars, reviews and to advise or lead directorate involvement in complex studies and issues discussions. Establish and maintain effective departmental relationships, information sources and project team members.

-Skill and ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.

-Ability to originate new ideas and methodologies. Must possess demonstrated operational leadership and managerial skills essential to the successful accomplishment of the responsibilities inherent in a command position.

-Must have a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology.
