What Will You Be Doing?The FOQA Program Manager reports to the Sr. Manager, Operational Safety Programs and leads the company's Flight Operations Quality Assurance program by overseeing flight data analysis, event monitoring, safety trend identification, corrective action support, and integration of FOQA insights into the company's Safety Management System and risk-based decision-making.
Essential Functions- Lead and manage the FOQA program, including administration, governance, data protection, continuous improvement, and SMS alignment. (25%)
- Facilitate FOQA Monitoring Team activities, including event review, meeting coordination, documentation, recommendation tracking, and stakeholder follow-up. (20%)
- Oversee FOQA data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting to identify hazards, monitor safety performance, and support risk-based decision-making. (20%)
- Develop safety trend analyses, studies, reports, and presentations to communicate emerging risks and support proactive mitigation. (15%)
- Coordinate corrective actions and safety recommendations with operational departments to ensure FOQA findings are assessed, addressed, and monitored. (10%)
- Support SMS, safety assurance, and safety promotion initiatives by integrating FOQA insights into communications, briefings, training support, and continuous improvement efforts. (10%)
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and airline operations experience.
- Minimum 5 years of aviation safety, flight operations, FOQA, SMS, ASAP, or related operational experience.
- Experience analyzing aviation safety data, identifying trends, preparing reports, and supporting corrective actions.
- Operational familiarity with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Inflight, Maintenance, Training, and airline safety programs.
- Experience with FOQA/FDM software such as Teledyne AirFASE, CEFA, or similar systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of SMS principles, risk management, safety assurance, safety reporting, and safety promotion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of SMS requirements, flight data monitoring, risk management, safety assurance, safety promotion, and corrective action processes.
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, airline operations, aircraft systems, MELs, dispatch procedures, and flight operations procedures.
- Working knowledge of Teledyne AirFASE, CEFA, ProSafeT, or similar aviation safety data/reporting systems preferred.
- Understanding of Crew Resource Management, aviation human factors, and fatigue risk management.
- Ability to analyze FOQA data, identify operational trends, prepare reports, and develop data-driven safety recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and instructional skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, protect sensitive safety data, and collaborate effectively with operational departments.
