Job Summary

About this role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance Audit, the Senior Compliance Auditor manages and conducts all aspects of the audit program for an assigned portfolio of audits. This includes developing the audit program framework, creating the annual audit plan, conducting and overseeing audits, and preparing related reports and schedules. The Senior Compliance Auditor works with a wide network of internal and external contacts and supervises a team of compliance auditors and administrative staff.

This role may require occasional overnight travel within the Province of British Columbia. This role may require working outside of regular business hours to meet deadlines.

Position requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) with active membership in good standing with CPA British Columbia (CPABC) and recent related experience*. (Note: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association).

*Recent related experience must have occurred in the last five (5) years and include the following:
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience conducting compliance, operational, financial, internal, fraud audits/reviews or financial investigations.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience with direct reports in a financial and administrative environment.

Preference may be given to those candidates with any of the following:
  • Experience as an audit professional in a regulatory compliance, financial audit, or investigative role.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Beverage alcohol industry/supply chain or whole/sale retail operations.
