An exciting opportunity for a Flight Test Functional Development Engineer, working hand-in-hand with the Airframer, has arisen. As the Flight Test Functional Development Engineer, you will own and deliver Mission Readiness of all Powerplant Functional and Control System aspects for the installed RR Integrated Power Plant Systems (IPPS's) on a daily basis. You will support the Airframer Flight Test program execution and Powerplant Control System Integration Test including support of validation and verification tasks (V&V), planning and execution of Engine Control System configurational changes, delivery and analysis of test data and reporting to RR programs. You must be open to traveling up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
What you will be doing: - Manage all activities required to maintain a mission-ready Powerplant Control System, including Engine Monitoring System and software download in flight test and production.
- Represent Rolls-Royce Functional Development Engineering in front of our RR NA customers and within the Rolls-Royce Flight Test Team in Savannah (Georgia US).
- Take ownership of all aspects of the Functional Development and Powerplant Control System, including integration testing, communication and liaise with customers, company specialists, Engine Control System (component) suppliers and project management.
- Analyze and interpret flight test data to support events investigation / Problem Reporting as well as support design, verification and validation activities globally. This includes data trawling and reporting.
- Configure, administrate and operate Engine Monitoring System (EMS) on aircraft and at airframer rigs in order to support verification of Powerplant Control System requirements in the Flight Test and on Hardware in the Loop Rigs at the customer.
- Support Functional Development activities for other programs in different test locations.
- Drive innovation by developing and improving existing tools and processes that can be applied by the local and global FT community.

Basic Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience, OR
- Master's degree in Engineering, OR
- PhD in Engineering
- In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
Preferred Requirements:- Experience in the field of System design, Engine control and operation as well as Powerplant integration
- Previous experience in system test, verification and validation.
- Analytical, programming, modelling, and simulation skills.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and stakeholder management skills, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, project, shop floor) and provide support in customer-facing technical briefings and status updates.
- Proficiency in the ability to convey complex technical information clearly, in written reports (e.g., test reports, failure reports) and verbal presentations (e.g., customer meetings, project discussions).
- Proficient in MS Office.
