We are looking for a Flexible Raw Material Technical Service Representative to join our Monomers team in Wyandotte, MI.
As a Flexible Raw Material Technical Service Representative, you will be responsible for flexible PU development, product launches, and technical support for existing and new BASF customers. You will use your demonstrated technical and troubleshooting skills to facilitate technical support, product innovation, while working individually and in a team setting in a safe and timely manner.

• Supporting technically flexible polyurethane products (isocyanates and polyols) for third party raw materials market in USA, Canada, Mexico, and Central America/Caribbean.
• Developing, managing, prioritizing, and driving to completion automotive/molded and slab foam technical development projects.
• Acting as the BASF face to the PU industry - with strong customer facing interactions that include development of training webinars, industry presentations, and engagement with industry associations (American Chemistry Council - CPI, Polyurethane Foam Association, Foam Expo, etc.)
• Supporting the technical side of sustainability efforts for polyurethane flexible foam applications developing expertise in BASF routes for sustainable PU (BMB, reduced PCF, recycled materials, bio-based options).
• Working closely with new business development, you will identify new ideas for innovation (related to product, application, digitalization or sustainability), define and start projects, assemble and manage internal and external resources, drive initiatives to full completion and ensure execution in compliance with project timelines, as well as safety and regulatory requirements.
• Being responsible for the technical launches of new products and technologies, with a focus on aligning value propositions with market needs and optimizing value creation for BASF through innovation.
If you...
• Hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or other applied sciences.
• Have relevant experience in technical, customer-facing, business development or other similar roles, typically gained over 8+ years. Polyurethane or urethane expertise will be a plus and considered in evaluating overall qualifications.
• Possess strong laboratory skills.
