Full Job Description
The Role

Plans, organizes and directs functions and activities related to the acquisition, servicing, utilization, maintenance and repair, and disposal of company equipment assets in an assigned geographical area. Coordinates and directs vendor and contracted resources in a variable cost structure by sizing the resource pool appropriately to meet fluctuating demand. Provides assets to meet company vehicle/equipment needs as well as assures safe and reliable assets in support of business objectives.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Manage operating expense and capital budgets to achieve cost-per-mile, utilization, and fleet sizing targets. Analyze data to identify performance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with vehicle- and equipment-using departments to understand operational needs and establish processes that align fleet execution with business objectives.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Business Unit leadership, operations management, operators, vendors, contractors, and internal support teams to address fleet issues impacting service delivery. Ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Identify and coordinate the recovery of underutilized fleet assets. Evaluate asset condition and determine appropriate redeployment, retirement, or disposal actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, preventive maintenance schedules, DOT and ANSI inspection requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with contracted call-center operations to review and authorize repair and maintenance requests through approved supplier networks. Assess vendor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor fleet asset performance and resolve operational, quality, and safety issues in collaboration with users and suppliers. Manage vendor performance using KPIs, including cost, repair cycle time, and repeat repairs.
  • Track and manage fleet warranties and recalls to ensure compliance, timely execution, and cost recovery.

  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with varied levels or employees, suppliers, vendors and teammates. Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish multiple and broad range of tasks with limited timelines, analyzing information and making and business decisions
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with oral presentations and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to accept, embrace and manage ambiguity/change as determined by evolving business conditions
  • College Degree or 5 years business experience
  • Three years Fleet Management/Industry Experience supervising a medium size Fleet Organization
  • Demonstrated experience working with vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs


Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$67,703 - $90,270 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY
$71,088 - $94,784 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$74,474 - $99,297 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
