Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on truck operation and optimal configurations for managed fleet accounts.
  • Support the sales team with fleet-specific projects and represent customer and dealer interests.
  • Assist Fleet Sales Program Managers with tasks like OARs, sales engineering projects, and performance analysis.
  • Create chassis models in CREO and solve complex specifications for fleet trucks.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with engineering and production for fleet pilot builds.
  • Help dealers finalize customer specifications using PremierSpec and enhance Data Book as needed.
  • Travel to customers and dealers for pilot reviews and product training sessions.

Full Job Description
Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for technical expertise on how the truck will be operated by the end user, how the dealer will order the truck, and the best combination of available options and performance for the customer's application for managed fleet accounts.
  • Support the sales team on fleet specific projects, acting as voice of the customer and dealer within Kenworth to meet fleet customer needs and goals.
  • Support Fleet Sales Program Managers on technical tasks related to assigned fleet accounts including, but not limited to, OARs, sales engineering projects, and fleet optimization and performance analysis.
  • Create chassis models utilizing CREO and solving complex layouts for fleet truck specifications.
  • Cross-functional leadership in working with Kenworth engineering and production plants to support fleet pilot builds and meet customer expectations.
  • Provide support to dealers in completion of customer specifications with PremierSpec; drive Data Book enhancements as needed.
  • Travel to fleet customers and dealers to participate in and lead pilot reviews, product training, and quarterly business reviews.


Qualifications & Skills
  • BS degree required; BSME or BSEE highly preferred. P.E. License a plus.
  • 7+ years' experience with Kenworth or related truck/automotive industry engineering experience.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and customer service orientation are a must.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical experience and aptitude required.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement methods a plus.
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel and SQL proficiency a plus.
  • CREO experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau and Snowflake preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • General knowledge of truck or automotive systems/components and how they function/interact.
  • Project support and leadership for small to moderate size projects, including customer request, process improvement & product development support.
  • Understanding of basic principles of computer/application program operation and willingness to support maintenance of existing applications and development of new processes and application. Will work with Plant & IT groups.

We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Fleet Sales Technical Manager is $104,100 - $162,900 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
