The Role
We're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee all aspects of fleet operations - vehicles, tools, equipment, and the people behind them. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and can juggle compliance, vendor management, asset tracking, and team leadership.
What You'll Do
- Oversee operations and maintenance of company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Supervise the Fleet Coordinator and Diesel Mechanic; reinforce safety and maintenance standards
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company licensing, registration, and titling requirements
- Evaluate fleet needs and coordinate asset purchases, disposals, transfers, and relocations
- Administer fuel programs, maintenance schedules, and service tracking
- Manage records for vehicles, tools, cell phones, tablets, and company credit cards
- Coordinate issuance of equipment and PPE to new hires alongside Operations and Safety
- Liaise with vendors, internal teams, and external partners
Working Conditions
Office-based with regular travel to job sites and vendor locations (50-75%). Standard business hours with flexibility during busy project periods.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, logistics, or equipment operations
- Prior experience overseeing fleet operations, asset management, or maintenance programs preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's in business, logistics, or automotive technology preferred
- Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, lifecycle management, and asset tracking
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Fieldwire or similar field tracking tools
- Valid driver's license required; DOT compliance training and ASE certification a plus
- Construction, telecom, or field operations experience preferred
