JOB SUMMARY

The Fleet & Equipment Services Manager is responsible for managing the Company's maintenance management systems and processes for over-the-road, mobile powered equipment and ready-mix plants. This position will support operations and is responsible for developing data-driven frameworks to guide acquisition, maintenance, and divestiture decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Develop and implement strategic, long-term plans for fleet and equipment lifecycle management, including acquisition, maintenance, and divestiture.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and KPIs to evaluate fleet efficiency and cost-effectiveness of maintenance programs.
  • Develop and manage budgets for maintenance programs and capital expenditures.
  • Oversee the Company's maintenance management systems and data integrity for over-the-road, mobile powered equipment and ready-mix plants.
  • Works with operations leaders to ensure compliance with prescribed preventive and corrective maintenance schedules; ensure activities are optimized to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Company's light-duty vehicle fleet
  • Build and maintain analytical frameworks and tools to support data-driven decision-making across fleet operations; incorporates asset generated and external data sources.
  • Monitor equipment utilization, maintenance costs, and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage the Company's telematics and OEM monitoring systems to integrate into lifecycle analytics and address real-time performance issues.
  • Coordinate with HSE and operations to ensure fleet operations comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead initiatives to improve safety performance and reduce risk across fleet and plant operations.
  • Responsible for the leadership, management and development of a team of analysts and telematic technicians.
  • Develop cross-functional continuous improvement programs to enhance the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Manages the Company's fuel and oil analysis programs.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed


QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible related experience, including at least 3 years of leadership experience in a similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • At least 5 years of asset management experience preferred
  • Experience with fleet telematics preferred
  • Relevant heavy machinery industry experience preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Familiarity with basic DOT requirements
  • Familiarity with government regulations/policies and advising stakeholders on the company's internal requirements
  • Familiarity with truck specifications ranging from medium duty to heavy trucks
  • Proactive, well-organized, and effective time management skills with the ability to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of vehicle procurement and fleet contract negotiations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work at all levels in the organization
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems
  • Independently drives projects to completion and leads with high energy and passion
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide guidance
  • Good mathematical skills including the ability to figure equations as required in analyzing fleet data
  • Ability to ensure accountability and instill trust with employees by following through on commitments and making sure others do the same
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel occasionally for work to field locations and/or to attend meetings or training
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 50 lbs. of weight repeatedly
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to tolerate working in all environmental temperatures and weather
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting
  • Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to verbally communicate, see, and hear
