First-Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K)

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives in accordance with MS&B and BDS business goals and objectives
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals
  • Maintain technical, cost and schedule aspects of the IPT, including design, development, integration and support of the IPT's Mission Systems products and charter
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Manages, develops, and motivates employees
  • Identify training requirements and assure opportunities are available to support the team's development
  • Partner with local and enterprise-wide design centers to develop staffing strategies for successful program execution
  • Responsible for the performance management and evaluation of direct reports including 1:1 coaching, employee development and ensuring technical proficiency
  • Meet commitments, and drive quality, efficiency, and affordability
  • Mentor and coach all levels of engineers providing knowledge transfer to aid in growing our next generation of leaders and engineers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace
  • 5+ years of experience working in operations or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in developing and implementing process improvements
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Previous project management experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final pre-start or post-start U.S. Secret clearance is required.
