Position DescriptionThe Department of Athletics at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of 1st Coaching Assistant (12-month) for Women's Basketball with the appointment starting on August 10, 2026.
The PositionThe ideal candidate will demonstrate successful coaching and recruiting experience at the collegiate level; excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills; and a strong commitment to the academic achievement and holistic development of student-athletes through knowledge and understanding of NCAA regulations. The Assistant Coach is expected to serve as a mentor and positive role model and to demonstrate sensitivity to equity, inclusion, and diversity in working with a diverse student-athlete population.
ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Coach assists with the daily operations of the Women's Basketball program in accordance with NCAA, CCAA Conference, and California State University, Dominguez Hills rules, regulations, and policies. Responsibilities include assisting with coaching instruction, player development, recruiting, practice and game preparation, and supporting the academic success and overall well-being of student-athletes.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Applicants must have experience in working with students from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 1 to 3 years of successful NCAA Division I, II, III basketball coaching experience.
Preferred /Desired Qualifications
- Coaching experience at Division II level
- Master's degree

A member of NCAA Division II, CSUDH competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Other functions of the unit include public relations, sports information, athletic training, fund-raising, scheduling of campus athletics facilities, and recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Additional InformationThe full-time Coach (12-Month) classification salary range is $6,288 to $7,658 per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring salary range for this position is $6,288 to $6,500 per month. The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and current CSUDH faculty salaries in the academic department/discipline. Faculty salaries are subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases.
