Position Summary

The Financial Specialist serves as a senior-level finance professional and subject matter expert supporting complex clinical and business service lines across BayCare. This role assumes a leadership position within the finance function, partnering with leaders at all levels of the organization to provide strategic financial guidance, analytical support, and operational insight.

Responsibilities include coordinating and enhancing financial analysis and reporting processes, supporting operating and capital budget development, forecasting, capital asset management, cost accounting, and general accounting activities. The Financial Specialist leads complex projects that support organizational goals, proactively improves the integrity and accuracy of financial data, and provides exceptional customer service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

This role demonstrates critical thinking, sound professional judgment, and strong analytical capabilities while taking ownership of results, mentoring others, and fostering collaboration across departments.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

One of the following combinations is required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with:
    • Eight (8) years of Accounting experience and
    • Eight (8) years of Financial Analysis experience

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Six (6) years of Accounting experience
  • Six (6) years of Financial Analysis experience

OR

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Six (6) years of Accounting experience
  • Six (6) years of Financial Analysis experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Four (4) years of healthcare finance or healthcare accounting experience
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field
