Job PurposeUsing superior analytical skills and knowledge of accounting principles and outstanding judgement provide business intelligence of key drivers and financial performance of assigned Business Units on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Advise assigned groups on the financial implication of both investment and expense activities and influence business strategy and decision making by leadership to maximize both efficiency and profitability.
The Financial Sr Analyst II acts as a business partner with minimal oversight to provide guidance for the proper accounting treatment of complex and unusual transactions and their implications on both forecasted and actual results. Leads indirect reports in the creation, analysis, and submission of no less than 6 forecasting events per year influencing future direction based on solid business acumen and ability to build superior relationships.
Key Accountabilities - Prepare/review budget vs actual comparisons for responsible business unit(s) based on professional accounting standards to ensure accurate financial information and to advise management on future activity and impact on profitability and financial objectives.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting and finance principles across all assigned areas.
- Prepare/Review month end close activities including analysis of complex financial information in order to create/review journal entries which impact the financial condition of HDMA.
- Communicate with leadership key drivers of financial performance and provide forward looking guidance on financial trends. Oversee this activity for multiple areas to ensure consistency.
- Use analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge and years of experience to oversee the creation of 6 budget events per year.
- To review the information provided by others to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Use financial information to create presentations to advise executive management of budget to actual condition and make recommendations for actionable strategies to improve performance.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills - Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of experience
- Associates Degree is acceptable with 7+ years Accounting experience
- 5+ years Accounting experience (preferably at Honda)
- Advance knowledge of GAAP/IFRS accounting principles
- Advance knowledge of accounting functions and terminology with the ability to apply accounting concepts and explain them and their implications to non-accountants
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Strong knowledge of SAP including the BPC module
Working Conditions - Office (4 days a week) / Virtual remote (1 day a week)
- 5-10 hours of OT/week
- Minimal domestic travel 5%.
