Job Description:The Job / What You'll Do:The Advanced Planning Team is a centralized group of financial planners supporting advisors and their clients with financial planning analysis and insights.
As a Financial Planning Analyst, you will support the preparation of financial plans by gathering data, running planning software, and assisting planners with analysis and research.
This role is designed for early-career professionals who want to build foundational experience in financial planning while working closely with Senior Financial Planners.
This is a full-time position in our Charlotte, NC office with a hybrid work schedule.Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing components of financial plans for prospective and existing clients, including retirement projections, cash flow summaries, Social Security estimates, and basic tax planning scenarios
- Gather and organize client financial data to support planning analysis
- Use financial planning tools (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuide, Holistiplan, Social Security analysis tools) to run reports and generate projections under the guidance of planners
- Support Financial Planners by preparing planning deliverables and organizing plan outputs
- Review financial plan materials for completeness, formatting, and data accuracy
- Conduct research on financial planning, retirement, and tax-related topics and summarize findings for the planning team
- Assist in preparing client-facing presentations and internal planning resources
- Collaborate with members of the Advanced Planning team and other groups within Wealth Solutions on assigned projects
- Participate in team meetings and planning discussions to gain exposure to the financial planning process
- Maintain organization of planning materials and assist with documentation and workflow tracking
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to learn financial planning concepts and tools quickly
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Familiarity with financial planning tools such as eMoney, MoneyGuide, or similar software is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks
- Professional mindset with a strong commitment to learning and ethical financial planning practices
Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required or equivalent experience
- 0-2 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, accounting, or financial services
- Pursuing CFP® certification preferred
- Internship or coursework related to financial planning, investments, or tax concepts preferred
Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $80,000-$90,000.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
