Responsibilities

  • Review journal entries related to accounts receivable, cash, and accruals.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances monthly for revenues and expenses.
  • Review audit schedules for accounts receivable, cash, and accruals.
  • Ensure accuracy in accounts receivable and subsidy reconciliation.
  • Monitor the service coordinator program activities.
  • Prepare annual rent increase package for HUD submission.
  • Maintain and record depreciation on fixed assets schedules.
  • Conduct general ledger reconciliations and assist in monthly financial reporting.

Full Job Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for all aspects of general ledger analysis. Assist in financial reporting. There will be a team of three Housing Project Senior Accountants. The expectation is that each member will be able to perform a significant portion of the responsibilities listed below and will serve as each other's backup as needed.

DIRECT REPORTS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review all journal entries related to accounts receivable, cash and accruals. • Review detailed analysis of budget to actual variances for all revenues and expense accounts on a monthly basis.
• Review audit schedules for accounts receivable, cash and accruals.
• Review accounts receivable and subsidy receivable reconciliation from subleger to general ledger.
• Monitor the service coordinator program.
• Review annual rent increase package to be submitted to HUD
• Maintain fixed assets schedules and record depreciation
• Review escrow analysis relating to water and sewer, insurance and other escrows , request payments as needed
• Perform other general ledger reconciliation and analysis
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package
• Assist in budget preparation
• Assist in special projects
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of three years of general ledger experience
• Public accounting experience required; property management experience preferred • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Gmail, and real estate general ledger systems; adaptable to learning new software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
