- Manage cash flow activities, including estimating disbursement needs, monitoring receipts and deposits, supporting investment decisions, and ensuring funds are available for payments.
- Control and monitor the receipt, deposit, disbursement, and investment of funds; reconcile financial activity and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
- Certify payment and disbursement requests and ensure financial transactions comply with applicable requirements and established financial controls.
- Analyze financial reports, records, and data to identify discrepancies, trends, operational issues, and opportunities to improve financial processes.
- Maintain and reconcile financial records and general ledger activity; monitor financial operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Prepare financial and program reports, forecasts, estimates, and supporting analyses for management and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal and external organizations to resolve financial issues involving collections, deposits, disbursements, investments, and other fund management activities.

QualificationsFor the GS12: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (or equivalent) that includes ALL of the following:
- Monitoring cash or fund management activities involving the receipt, deposit, disbursement, or investment of funds;
- Reconciling financial transactions, accounts, or records and identifying or resolving discrepancies; AND
- Preparing financial reports, forecasts, estimates, or recommendations to support financial operations or management decisions.
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-11 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS 12 level.
