RSM's Finance and Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) practice is looking for skilled experienced professionals to join our team. RSM's FAO practice blends to best of both worlds by providing candidates with all the career growth opportunities that come with working for a public accounting firm, while at the same time operating in private company environments on a daily basis. We provide accounting, technology and consulting services to private, lower middle market clients, with revenues ranging from $0 to $100 million. In other words, we are the accounting department for our clients. Our diverse industry base includes technology, life science, not-for-profit, consumer products and professional service organizations, just to name a few. This position will need to work to deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, such as month end close, financial reporting, year-end audit support, and the support of budget and forecasting activities. In addition, you will have the ability to learn and efficiently use our best-in-class cloud based technology stack. FAO Supervisors will have contact with our clients (CEO, COO, CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, etc.), as well as other client contacts including tax and professional service providers.

37 Solid Excel skills (create tables, use formulas, pivot tables)
37 This is a hands-on position that requires transaction processing and account reconciliation skills. Duties include:
37 Key point of contact for our clients Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Month End Close cycles
37 Lead, manage and coach client services representatives, associates and senior associates
37 Support the clients month end close process as needed which may include reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
37 Prepare/Review client's monthly financial statements including month over month variance analysis and / or actual to budget analysis
37 Analyze and interpret financial information for client management and provide actionable insight and decision support
37 Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the clients monthly operations make suggestions for process improvements
37 Understand our technology stack and identify additional add-on processes, systems, modules and integrations that can drive month end close efficiencies.
37 Define and document repeatable methodologies with appropriate tools and templates that can be leveraged for future projects.
37 Establish engagement budgets
37 Direct initial assessments, implementations and onboarding of new FAO clients
37 Participate in meetings with new client prospects and in the proposal process
Qualifications:
37 A minimum of a Bachelor's in accounting or finance is required
37 Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must (proactively communicates status, issues, conflicts, and priorities up, down and across the engagement team)
37 Ability to balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously plus excellent analytical and decision making skills
37 Progressive experience in accounting and financial management in a corporate accounting environment, in roles such as accounting supervisor, assistant controller, controller, director of finance, or CFO.
37 Strong technical financial accounting (GAAP) knowledge
37 Strong management accounting and operational finance knowledge
37 Experience in the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function (financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, etc.)
37 Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
37 Strong time-management and organizational skills with sensitivity to timeframes, budgets, and outcomes across multiple clients/projects.
37 Ability to work independently in a growing, dynamic, fast-paced environment with extensive multi-tasking demands
37 Experience with automated accounting systems (i.e. Intacct, NetSuite, Blackline, Bill.com, Tallie)
37 CPA is preferred but not required

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $85,100 - $161,700
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
