Full Job Description
The successful candidate may be permitted to work in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and flexible work location) and will live within commuting distance of our Vancouver office.

OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial and business advisory services and support within HEABC. The Financial Analyst completes analysis, forecasting, internal and external reporting, and prepares operating and capital budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the annual budgeting cycle, aligning strategic priorities with timely, accurate budgets for approval
  • Prepare budget updates and adjustments
  • Oversee and reconcile Board-approved and internal budgets
  • Advise senior leaders throughout the budget process on forecasts, staffing plans, cost pressures, surpluses, and resource trade-offs
  • Support position control governance in collaboration with Human Resources
  • Conduct integrated financial analyses, including operational performance, workforce trends, funding changes, economic conditions, and policy or regulatory developments
  • Deliver insightful variance and trend analysis, including salary and financial variances
  • Lead financial forecasting and reporting for internal Board and Finance & Audit Committee the Ministry
  • Build financial capability across the organization, supporting new and existing leaders through training and orientation on budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
  • Support external financial accountability, preparing and coordinating accurate, compliant reporting to the Ministry of Health, PSEC, and external funding partners
  • Support financial system internal controls, ensuring signing authority and organizational structures accurately reflect leadership accountabilities and reporting needs


Required Education, Experience & Knowledge:

Bachelor's degree in finance (BBA, BCom, BSc) and five (5) years' recent related, finance and accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Advanced software skills, including MS Excel

Salary Range: $76,111 - $99,895

Typical Hiring Range: $76,111 - $95,138

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate's skillset and experience, as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
