Job Summary:
Teledyne FLIR is searching foran experienced Accountant & Financial Analyst who will be responsible for accounting reconciliations and financial planning, analysis, and reporting for various defense programs. This role supports the Detection business unit and collaborates with other business units to ensure accurate accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance with corporate financial policies. This role will serve as a key partner to program managers and leadership, providing insights that drive strategic decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
Drive performance of Contract and Internal Research and Development portfolios across multiple business units.
Monitor project budgets, actuals, and forecasts to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Track and report on funding utilization, cost trends, and variances.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Design, develop and maintain custom financial analysis tools and portfolio-level reporting frameworks to improve visibility, accuracy, and consistency across programs.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership.
Support long-range planning and annual operating plan processes.
Accounting & Financial Close
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals and adjustments, ensuring appropriate documentation and accuracy.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
Support monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Acts as the primary financial interface between program managers, engineering teams, and business unit leaders to provide financial guidance.
Coordinate with other business units to consolidate portfolio data and ensure consistency.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies, US GAAP and government contract requirements.
Support audits and internal reviews

Job Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
5 - 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance or project analysis
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling capabilities
Experience with ERP/MRP systems required, SAP experience strongly preferred
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated continuous learning mindset and collaborative team orientation
