Full Job Description
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst supports Program Management in coordinating and managing financial planning and control activities in accordance with contract requirements, including analysis of weekly and monthly actual costs incurred against budgeted, variance analysis, estimates to complete, preparation of Management Review Packages, and in some cases Earned Value Management (EVM).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The duties and responsibilities listed below apply to all levels of Financial Analyst. Each level of Financial Analyst has additional duties and responsibilities listed.

Financial Analyst II
  • Maintains, manages, and reconciles customer contracts for billings, revenue recognition, funding, and percentage complete.
  • Assists in the review and entry of monthly cost of sales.
  • Supports Financial Analyst III-IV on program related tasks as needed.
  • Prepares Monthly program financial analysis reports which include: Program/project financial status; Performance to budget with variance analysis; estimate to complete; estimate at complete; and anticipated net operating incomes.
  • May consult with Program and Cost Account Managers to develop variance reports/correction actions.
  • Maintains and ensures the accuracy of Budget and Estimate to complete databases.
  • Maintains and ensures the accuracy of actual cost collected.
  • Prepares and maintains all assigned month end, program related general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Support earned value requirements on contracts, as required.
  • Assist in the development forecasts, budgets, and estimates at complete (EAC), and perform ongoing analysis of actual costs against these benchmarks.


Financial Analyst III
  • Finance lead and subject matter expert for primary business areas/platforms.
  • Works with Program Management to develop revenue recognition methodology on contract items, forecasts, baselines, schedules, contract logs, baseline change requests, and variance analysis.
  • Presents monthly program financial results during monthly CSR meetings.
  • Participates in program reviews with internal staff and/or external customers.
  • Coordinates and advises program management, functional managers, control account managers and executive management.
  • Works closely with IPTs and program team to provide financial support.
  • Prepares and presents financial reports and recommendations to management to include EV metrics as required by program.
  • Works with all departments to provide financial analysis and guidance on any and all new projects.
  • Consults with Program and Cost Account Managers to develop variance analysis and corrective actions
  • Coordinates with Contracts, Program Management and finance to monitor contract value change, funding, and issues of work authorization.
  • Improves program cost reporting (internal & external), budgeting, and cost collection processes and systems.
  • Reconciles inconsistencies between cost reporting data and EVMS results as required by program.
  • Provides budgetary and forecast inputs related to revenue and margin projections to corporate planning.
  • Develops justification, reviews, and approves monthly revenue recognition.
  • Mentor, provide guidance and direction to junior staff, as needed.

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Financial Analyst II

  • Minimum of 4 years work experience with cost reporting and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge and experience with all financial functions including Cost Reporting, Estimating, Cost Management, and Operating Plan/Forecast preparation. Training in and exposure to Earned Value Management (EVMS) may be required.
  • Knowledge of all contract types: CPFF, CPA/IF, FFP, FPI, T&M & IDIQ.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).


Financial Analyst III

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with Financial Analysis, Earned Value Management Systems experience may be required depending on position.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with all financial functions including Cost Reporting, Estimating, Cost Management, and Operating Plan/Forecast preparation.
  • Training in and exposure to Earned Value Management (EVMS) may be required.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Office and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
  • May work extended hours or weekends, especially around Month End and Fiscal Year End closing cycle.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 0-5% May be required between KUAS locations.
