Please be advised that the results of this competition may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of the same position within the next 18 months.If this position becomes eligible to be filled permanently, the successful candidate from this competition may be appointed to the role.Duties & Responsibilities- Provide financial support to implement capital projects, including review of council resolutions, creation of project accounts, performing and reporting project-related financial transactions.
- Monitor and communicate capital project accounts and related information.
- Perform and reconcile financial transactions to implement approved budget related to capital program and reserves.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual capital budget and forecast and related analyses.
- Assist in the semi-annual preparation of capital variance and project closure reports, including distribution, compilation and review of capital project information through interaction with project managers.
- Perform year-end tasks related to capital financing and reserves required for the annual financial reporting of the corporation.
Skills & QualificationsEssential- Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline with a strong emphasis in finance and/or accounting.
- Three years related experience.
- Strong knowledge of capital financing and accounting.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and the SAP software system.
- Ability to perform financial and statistical analysis.
