JOB DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Collect, process, analyze, and deliver data to aid with decision-making, advisor scorecard tracking, and public reporting. Implement ETL processes to clean, transform, and pre-process financial data for analysis and reporting, and drive business intelligence initiatives. Implement automation solutions for routine data processing tasks, reducing manual efforts and improving efficiency in handling financial data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other stakeholders including Product Controllers and CFOs to understand data requirements and provide effective technical solutions. Drive and monitor the monthly reporting process for public disclosure while establishing controls for financial reporting. Develop financial models to evaluate the impact of proposed changes, market impacts, or strategies on the organization's financial performance. Identify opportunities for streamlining and optimizing financial processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. Communicate complex financial information and analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Partner with finance and technology teams to identify and resolve issues that arise in monthly reporting reviews. Define and track key performance indicators to assess financial performance, providing actionable insights to business finance managers and stakeholders. Work with cross- functional project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals, scope, timelines, and driving the execution of platform modernization projects across MIS applications and infrastructure. Coordinate and conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer activities to ensure that finance teams are well-prepared for new processes or systems introduced through various projects impacting MIS data, applications, or infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Financial Analysis, Management Information System and Business Intelligence Reporting, Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Financial Analysis, Management Information System and Business Intelligence Reporting, Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Troubleshooting data including identifying and fixing issues with database queries, stored procedures, and query optimization using SQL; Creating stored procedures in SQL to automate manual processes using variables, temp tables, updates, inserts, joins, and indexes; Creating variance analysis datasets in SQL to identify drivers of differences between two sets of data; Developing automation solutions to streamline financial workflows and reduce manual errors using ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Pentaho, or Alteryx; Implementing and monitoring ETL solutions during production cycles to clean, transform, and pre-process financial data for analysis and reporting using SSIS, Informatica, or Pentaho; Performing financial data calculations involving multiple cells or ranges using Excel functions such as vlookup, xlookup, sumifs, countifs, concatenate, or index-match; Creating pivot tables to summarize and analyze large data sets; Developing financial dashboards and views incorporating interactive elements and drill-down capabilities using charting techniques and data visualization in Tableau or Cognos; Defining workflows, scheduling batch jobs, and monitoring using tools such as Control-M or Autosys; Using Excel VBA to automate data-related tasks.
