Full Job Description
Financial Accountant

A growing North America Precious Metals Company, Discovery is committed to combining high-quality gold producing assets in Canada with the world's largest undeveloped silver deposit in Mexico.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including journals, reconciliations, accruals, costs, and estimates
  • Support alignment of internal and external reporting and assist with knowledge sharing among finance team members
  • Contribute to month-end streamlining and elimination of non-value-added activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, taxation, insurance, and audit requirements.
  • Assist in preparation and forecasting of annual budget, OPEX, CAPEX, and ARO for Mine Site departments.
  • Maintain and improve financial systems, including Mincom, IDU, Ellipse, and Coupa support requirements.
  • Collaborate with Mine Operations, Maintenance, and Business Support teams to analyze and align operational costs.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree/Diploma in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA or similar professional designation preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end close processes; experience within the mining or industrial sector an asset
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and relevant financial regulations
  • Advanced skills in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to deliver accurate, error-free financial data and reports under tight deadlines
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing inefficiencies, redundant activities, and other areas for process improvement


Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive total compensation package including:
