Job Purpose and Impact

The Finance Senior Analyst job performs complex managerial accounting activities and partners with business leaders to support financial decision making. With minimal supervision, this job prepares financial reports, analyzes and reviews financial data and makes recommendations on budgeting and forecasting processes. This job also leads the continuous improvement of management information systems, reporting standards and business metric development to drive data informed business decisions. This role is located in our Nebraska City, NE facility supporting our value added protien (VAP) business.

Key Accountabilities

  • REPORT DRAFTING: Prepares complex financial and non-financial reports for internal partners, analyzing and reviewing financial data to ensure relevant information is shared in a timely and accurate manner.
  • BUSINESS PERFORMANCE TRACKING: Develops reports and dashboards to track business performance against plans, budgets, forecasts and other key performance indicators.
  • DECISION SUPPORT: Reviews and communicates insights based on financial analysis and research to support strategic business decision making, as well as ensuring proper internal controls at the facility
  • COST ANALYSIS: Reviews plant cost analysis for specific products, projects, to better understand cost drivers and opportunities for improvement.
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Maintains knowledge of industry trends and accounting standards, ensuring compliance and driving process innovation and continuous improvement within the department to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • MANAGEMENT REPORTING: Leads the implementation of effective management reporting practices to improve and ensure data integrity and relevancy.
  • RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Cultivates and maintains close partnerships with business leaders and business teams to understand local and regional business needs and collaborates with other finance leads to deliver on overall finance function expectations.
