The position at a glance- Shared Data Ecosystem team is located in Montreal, New Jersey, Chennai and Mumbai and at times, candidate will also be required to interact with other teams in Europe (Paris, Lisbon and Madrid).
- Mission of the team is to build and maintain the data-centric tools that enable Finance, Risk, and Liquidity users to produce accurate local regulatory reports.
- Communication and interaction between team members is key. It will be important for the candidate to demonstrate strong organization skills and capacity to plan, prioritize, and deliver work across multiple time zones.
- Candidate should have strong quantitative mindset and should be capable of turning complex business rules into logical data structures.
In detail The team members are responsible for the following activities:
- Elicit and document business requirements from Finance, Risk, Liquidity and IT partners and turn them into clear functional specifications and source-to-target mappings by leveraging generative AI tools.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings, keep all parties informed of status, risks, and decisions, and act as the point of contact for user queries.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure traceability and audit readiness
- Partner with development and downstream applications to ensure end-to-end delivery of regulatory reporting capabilities
- Analyze existing data flows, system logic, and reporting outputs to identify gaps and propose enhancements.
- Perform deep dive data analysis and profiling, trace data lineage, validate report outputs, and assess data quality, completeness and transformation rules.
- Create and execute testing plans (SIT and UAT). Write test cases, define expected results, log defects, track resolution and obtain sign off for the production releases.
- Automate test-case generationby feeding functional requirements into AI-driven testing platforms that produce SIT/UAT scenarios, expected results and synthetic test data
- Leverage SQL to analyze datasets, build prototypes, validate data flows, and support UAT
- Partner with development teams to support implementation and enhancement of data model and data flows
- Act as a subject matter expert during internal and external audits by providing documentation, explaining data sources and logic, and addressing queries related to processes
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and governance best practices, and proactively advise the team on how to adopt them safely within the environment
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed- Bachelor's degree or relevant master's degree in business, accounting or information technology (or international equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst in the field of accounting or financial systems implementation in the financial services industry.
- Professional working proficiency in English language is required. *
- Hands-on experience with complex data analysis, SQL queries, and regulatory reporting datasets.
- Experience with data modeling concepts (e.g., ERDs, dimensional models, normalized vs. denormalized structures).
- Strong working knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and ETL workflows.
- Ability to develop, adapt to a process, manage projects by effectively prioritizing workload with support from team managers.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills; ability to simplify and present complex data issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously, be able to focus on an end-to-end design, and implementation approach.
- Familiarity with generative-AI tools (e.g., Azure OpenAI, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) for drafting specifications, generating SQL snippets, or producing documentation.
- Proactive attitude towards staying current with emerging data-engineering, analytics and AI technologies and applying them responsibly within a highly regulated environment.
