Priority Deadline: August 9th Work will be predominantly remote, as EPN does not have an office. There will be some in-person meetings in other locations in the United States. You will work closely with other staff and contractors, including EPN's Fractional CFO . We are looking for this position to start immediately.
About The Position:Reporting to the Senior Director of People & Operations, the Finance Operations Manager supports the organization's day-to-day financial and operational functions, including accounts payable and receivable, expense management, donation tracking, contract administration, and vendor coordination. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely processing of invoices and payments, effective management of employee expenses and contracts, and reliable operational support across the organization. Working closely with the Fractional CFO, the Finance & Operations Manager provides administrative and financial support for reporting, compliance activities, special projects, and other organizational priorities as needed.
Responsibilities include: Financial Operations- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Review, code, and process invoices and payments in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations and financial reporting activities.
- Support the Fractional CFO with finance-related projects, reporting, and operational needs.
Expense Management- Administer and monitor employee corporate card and expense programs.
- Review and reconcile employee expense reports and corporate card transactions in bill.com and with Quickbooks.
- Ensure expenses are properly documented, coded, and approved in accordance with organizational policies.
- Follow up with staff regarding missing receipts, documentation, or policy compliance issues.
Donation & Revenue Tracking- Maintain accurate donor and contribution records within the organization's donor management database.
- Track and reconcile donations and other revenue sources with financial records.
- Support donation reporting and documentation needs.
Contract Administration- Coordinate contract preparation, routing, review, and finalization processes with contractor and hiring manager.
- Manage contract signature workflows and maintain executed agreements.
- Track contract terms, renewal dates, payment schedules, and key deadlines.
- Coordinate and process recurring contract payments and vendor invoices.
- Maintain organized contract records and supporting documentation.
Vendor & Operational Support- Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors regarding invoices, payments, and administrative matters.
- Assist with vendor onboarding and record maintenance.
- Support operational process improvements and documentation.
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support- Collaborate with internal staff to support financial and operational processes.
- Provide administrative support related to financial transactions, reporting, and compliance activities that includes but is not limited to tracking of internal bonuses, equipment purchases, professional development stipends, manager discretionary spending.
- Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Commitment to the Environmental Protection Network's mission and values.
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience managing financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms (e.g., Quickbooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience developing and improving financial processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Highly productive in remote working environments
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive financial information.
- High attention to detail with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including HR, Operations, IT, and Executive Leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.

PAY:- An annual salary of $87,792 based in D.C. We will adjust the salary up or down based on locality.
