Job Description

Position Summary

Oversees finance and accounting operations for the assigned business unit, ensuring accurate financial information to support decision-making. Supervises the finance/accounting team to help the business unit achieve its business objectives. Responsible for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial data while maintaining compliance and supporting continuous process improvement.

Position Details
  • Supervises the daily operations to ensure accuracy and integrity of finance/accounting systems, operations, and internal controls. Ensures optimization of business efficiencies through process improvements as they relate to finance/accounting operations.
  • Coordinates the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial and sales data.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, preparing standard and custom financial reports. Recommends actions to management and staff.
  • Guides staff by researching and interpreting finance/accounting policy, applying observations and making recommendations. Responds to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensures users are able to effectively use ERP and related systems for planning, recording, and managing projects and financials. Provides training as needed to ensure users understand processes and systems related to their financial/accounting transactions.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices, and current and proposed legislation and regulation.
  • Recommends changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance and promote best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Industry relevant experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
  • Analytical skills with the capacity for financial report interpretation, internal controls testing and external audits
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial information in a clear and concise manner and interact with all levels of management
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lead team effectively while managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Accounting software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
