ABOUT THE ROLEIn this role, you lead financial planning, reporting, analysis, and governance activities that support direct materials purchasing across the business. You serve as a key finance partner to purchasing leadership, helping evaluate material spend, supplier-related costs, savings initiatives, pricing changes, and financial risks while improving visibility, discipline, and decision-making. By combining strong analytical capability with practical business partnership, you help strengthen cost control, reporting accuracy, and financial support for sourcing strategies that directly impact plant and business performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead financial analysis for direct materials purchasing by evaluating material spend, supplier pricing, cost drivers, and savings performance.
- Perform variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and actuals to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improved material cost management.
- Partner with purchasing, supply chain, operations, and finance leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities tied to direct material spend.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reviews, reporting packages, and analytical insights for finance and purchasing leadership.
- Assess the financial impact of sourcing initiatives, supplier changes, material cost movements, and purchasing strategies to support better decision-making.
- Develop and maintain KPIs that improve visibility to direct materials performance, cost savings delivery, and financial effectiveness.
- Support financial modeling and scenario analysis related to supplier pricing, contract terms, sourcing alternatives, inflationary impacts, and cost improvement opportunities.
- Partner with accounting, procurement, supply chain, and systems teams to improve reporting accuracy, cost allocation, and data consistency across direct materials spend.
- Strengthen internal controls, reporting discipline, and governance related to purchasing financial data, supplier-related spend, and material cost tracking.
- Help improve tools, templates, and reporting processes to drive efficiency, transparency, and continuous improvement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering with relevant financial experience, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, purchasing finance, procurement finance, operations finance, or a related analytical finance role.
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
- Experience partnering with direct materials purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or operations leaders to support business performance and cost decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical financial insights.
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; SAP experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance and business teams.
- Demonstrated ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
