Job Summary

In this role, the candidate would be responsible for assisting all payment team members with financial and analytic support related to both the evaluation of new initiatives (e.g., business cases) as well as creation of performance monitoring reports for existing products/processes (e.g., weekly/monthly KPI reporting, P&Ls, etc.).  He/she would also be responsible for ad hoc analysis to help identify issues and opportunities as requested by leadership.  The candidate would be expected to be familiar with the operational and strategic priorities of the group and be knowledgeable about the location and extraction of the available data in support of those objectives.  Both data mining and data manipulation will be important elements of the job.

The ideal candidate will be adept at using modern data mining and manipulation tools/services (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, Google Big Query, etc.) as well as capable of learning internal legacy systems (e.g., PeopleSoft reporting, IBM PAC, etc.).  He/she should be capable of summarizing data in a format that will be effective in communicating to leadership (e.g., visualization tools, Microsoft Office, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders (e.g., finance and IT) to build system monitoring and analytic capabilities to proactively identify both issues and opportunities within the assigned scope of responsibilities
  • Work with IT (and other stakeholders as necessary) to resolve any identified payment related issues
  • Develop concise, yet comprehensive presentations or other written updates that appropriately communicate current state and future state of payments (including potential and approved initiatives that bridge the gap)
  • Manage project plans associated with new initiatives within assigned scope of responsibilities (e.g., implementation of new tender types, implementation of new technologies related to payments, etc.)
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional collaboration meetings for assigned initiatives
  • Act as liaison between key stakeholders (e.g., business units, finance, IT, vendors, etc.) to ensure payment priorities are appropriately established and supported
  • Assist in negotiating agreements with payment vendors as necessary
  • Work with legal and IT security teams to ensure payments ecosystem is both secure and compliant with all rules and regulations
  • Work with business units across the globe to understand uniqueness of payments environment in each geography and drive alignment related to payment efforts and strategy for each

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 7+ years relevant finance or accounting experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in strategy and planning within payment operations
  • Prior experience with data analysis (mining, manipulation, and visualization)
  • Prior exposure to large and complex enterprise IT environments
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures as relates to general finance principles (e.g., NPV, ROI, etc.) and general ledger accounting
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Prior exposure to large enterprise IT environments is a requirement (must be able to work closely with IT, understand the language, and be influential with IT partners)
  • Project management – establishing and maintaining workstream timelines, driving collaborative meetings to ensure alignment/awareness, etc.
  • Financial skills – ability to build simple analyses/business cases or work with finance to build more complex analyses and business cases
  • Data skills – ability to mine and interpret data and/or work with IT professionals to build more sophisticated data capabilities
  • Presentation skills / Professional presence – ability to communicate (both verbal and written, including slide creation) with executive level audience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • PMP or other project certification

Physical Demands / Working Environment

  • Principal duties of this job are performed indoors primarily in an office environment, with occasional field duties.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Able to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels
  • Must be able to stand and walk or travel short distances between work sites
  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, both verbally and in writing and to able to hear and respond verbal communication
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment like computers, calculators, and copiers
