Responsibilities

  • Serve as the finance business partner to the OCTA leadership team
  • Oversee the financial management functions including AR, AP, Fixed Assets, and Inventory
  • Provide accurate reporting and forecast insights based on financial trends
  • Lead the month-end close process alongside the Controlling/Accounting Team
  • Facilitate performance dialogues with the Operations team to drive financial outcomes
  • Develop and implement action plans to meet financial targets
  • Manage compliance with internal controls and ensure adherence to financial processes

Full Job Description
Salary: $100k - $125k / yr

Knowledge and Experience:
  • 5 or more years of proven finance experience
  • Experience managing a full P&L
  • Transit experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and achieve organizational objectives
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, Master's degree preferred
  • Strong work experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access
  • Proficiency with ERPs and Reporting Tools; Microsoft Dynamics/Anaplan a plus
  • High level of analytic, quantitative, and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work across different departments
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills a must
  • Ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking large projects
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment


Key Accountabilities:
  • Finance business partner to the OCTA leadership team and General Manager
  • Accountable for the financial management of OCTA (AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Inventory supervision)
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting and forecast, with insights from financial trends and operational KPIs/performance
  • Drive and oversee month end close process in partnership with Controlling/Accounting Team
  • Implement and drive performance dialogue with Operations team (GM, OCTA leadership team, Driver supervision, Maintenance)
  • Implement and drive action plan to ensure delivery of financial targets
  • Responds to ad-hoc financial analysis, special projects and similar duties
  • Ensure compliance and delegation of authority is applied and respected throughout the OCTA organization.
  • Drives internal controls process for finance systems. Document financial processes, initiate process improvement and action plan to ensure key financial and contractual targets are being met.

  • Operations Supervisors and Managers may split their work between an office setting looking at a computer screen/electronic device and active transit field locations driving in a vehicle.
  • Maintenance Employees may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in a ventilated maintenance shop and may work with personal computers, laptops, electronic hand-held devices, complex electrical schematics, diagnostic software and testing devices, and other heavy machinery.
  • Office Staff may work indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities, including offices and cubicle spaces equipped with a telephone and computer and may entail typing or looking at a computer screen.
