Full Job Description
We're looking for a Finance & Accounting Manager who combines strong accounting fundamentals with financial insight, business curiosity, and a drive to make things better.

Working closely with the CFO, this role oversees the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of our employee-owned company while helping turn financial information into insights that support better business decisions.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both the details and the bigger picture, ensuring our financial information is accurate, improving how we work, developing others, and helping leaders and employee-owners better understand the financial performance of the business.
What You'll Do
  • Own accounting and financial reporting
  • Manage monthly and year-end close, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
  • Prepare financial reporting and provide insight into key variances and trends
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate, timely financial records
  • Maintain effective financial controls and ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate tax reporting and compliance in partnership with external advisors
  • Support annual planning
  • Partner with the CFO on annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop financial models, forecasts, and scenarios to evaluate new projects, investments, and strategic initiatives
  • Turn financial results into clear, actionable insights for company leadership
  • Manage key financial operations
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow and working-capital needs
  • Manage the company's business insurance program and relationships with insurance partners
  • Identify and help mitigate financial and operational risks
  • Participate in financial reporting, planning, and other activities associated with our ESOP
  • Partner with HR on payroll-related financial reporting, reconciliations, and controls, ensuring payroll activity is accurately reflected in our financial records
  • Lead people and improve how we work
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members
  • Strengthen financial controls and identify opportunities to make processes simpler, more accurate, and more efficient
  • Improve financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows as the organization evolves
  • Be a trusted financial resource for employee-owners across the company
What You'll Bring
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or a related role with meaningful responsibility for accounting operations and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and month-end and year-end close
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling skills
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to people with varying levels of financial expertise
  • A collaborative, service-oriented approach and comfort balancing hands-on execution with higher-level thinking
Even Better If You Have
  • CPA, Accounting/Finance Degree
  • Experience working in an ESOP-owned company or supporting ESOP financial requirements
  • Experience with payroll accounting and reconciliation, including multi-state payroll environments
  • Experience in a small to mid-sized business or professional-services environment
  • Experience improving financial processes, systems, or internal controls
  • Experience mentoring or developing finance or accounting team members
